Peggy Taylor

When Peggy is not inspiring our future artists as an art teacher at the K-3 level in Milton schools, she is expressing herself in her own work. A graduate of UW Whitewater and the UW Madison Schools of Art & Education, Peggy works in watercolor, mixed media, acrylic and pastel. She has shown all over Wisconsin and embraces art as her vocation, both in education and expression.  From traditional to abstract, we are proud to share Peggy's creations with you!

Look for her art in the eGallery, but to see Peggy's work up close and personal, please visit Leuca Guild Hall!

Larry Schultz

Larry Schultz of Milton, Wisconsin is accomplished in a variety of mediums including watercolor, pencil, pen and ink and sculpture, but oil is what brings him the most enjoyment. Whether painting landscapes, animals, portraits or figurative works, his paintings express the balance between the intimacy and emotion he feels with nature (or creation) and the detail and
mood of his subject.

To see Larry's work up close and personal, please visit Leuca Guild Hall!

Tom Jewell

My goal as a painter is to capture the feeling of a mood or moment in time. I am a lifelong nature and animal enthusiast and I focus mainly on the natural beauty of nature and the animals that inhabit the landscape surrounding us. I paint utilizing the interaction of pigment, water, light and shadow across the subject matter to achieve an end result that provides the viewer with a stimulating visual experience.

I record painting ideas in my sketchbooks that have been my lifelong companions on family trips and drives through rural roads in search of interesting subject matter. I currently work with a range of water-based mediums, from transparent watercolor to gouache and acrylic. I also do some work in combination with my pen/pencil sketchbook techniques and watercolor wet-into-wet washes. This approach enables me to obtain interconnecting subject matter effects that create an interesting artistic impact.

My paintings evolve as wilderness landscapes, rural settings, wildlife images and occasionally floral or wildflower pieces. I also have a special affinity for horses; I devote my artistic efforts to capturing their elegant grace and beauty.

My greatest artistic pleasure is to be able to share with others what I have been able to create.

Biography
I attended Layton School of Art in Milwaukee, Wis., to obtain a degree in graphic design and print management. During my four years at Layton, I selected all of my elective courses within the fine arts areas, which enabled me to develop my painting interest and skills. I have painted all of my adult life and, after retirement from a career in graphic design and publication printing management, I now pursue painting on a full-time basis.

I have exhibited my paintings in art shows throughout southern Wisconsin, as well as various area galleries, including Door County and Leuca Guild in Milton. I have received several awards for my work and have works included in many private and corporate collections.

everytime you enter!

Betty & Tom
Schmidt

Creating art has brought such joy to the retirement years of Tom & Betty Schmidt, she the painter and he, the photographer! Nothing makes them happier than spending time painting her impressionistic landscapes, florals and figurative works and he, with his camera and making the prints of her work. She does both plein air painting and studio work, frequently using photographs from her travels with Tom.
