June 2007 Notes
Winter 2007-08 Notes

  Saturday September 20. 10:00 am
Barb Hensgen, a recent garden walk participant, has graciously invited us to a garden of a family member in Janesville. We'll meet at 10am at Steve Kerchoffs, 3117 Canterbury Lane, Janesville. Steve describes his garden as informal woodland highlighted with ponds and lighted walkways.
Directions:
From Hwy 14 on the north side of Janesville, go south on Wright Road.
Cross Milwaukee St, cross Ruger [4 way stop].
Take the first right turn after Ruger onto Canterbury.
About ½ mile on Canterbury you will cross Brakefield.
Steve is the 3rd house on the right after Brakefield.
If anyone needs further directions they can call Barb Hengsen at 868-4483.

Saturday October 18, 9:00 am
We will caravan down to Rockford to visit the Anderson Japanese Gardens, an authentic Japanese gardens with pagodas, ponds, waterfalls, and a collection of Japanese maples and rhododendrons which should be in peak fall color then. We will meet at Barbara Bendlin's house, 656 St Johns Avenue in Milton at 9:00 am. We will arrive at the gardens at 10:00 am, and we will plan to eat lunch at the restaurant in the visitor's center. Admission to the gardens is $7.00 per person. To find out more about the Anderson gardens, visit their website: www.andersongardens.org.

Saturday November 15, 10:00 am
Patty Bailey at Patty's Plants, 220 South Janesville Street in Milton, will host our November meeting. Patty opened this business in May 2008, and her store features natural and organic garden supplies. Patty will have many holiday gift items on display and will give us ideas for garden-themed gift-giving.

Please watch for news releases about these events in the Milton Courier. For more information on any event, contact Barbara Bendlin at 868-3824, bbendlin@jvlnet.com
